One Line Escape
The short version
One Line Escape has no accounts and no server of ours. We do not collect or store anything about you. Everything you do in the game stays on your phone. The only other company involved is Google, and only when you choose to watch an ad for extra hints.
What the game collects: nothing
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to type in. Your progress, your hints and the accessibility options you pick (things like reduced glow, reduced motion, higher contrast) are saved on your phone only, and they disappear when you uninstall the game. Nothing is uploaded, backed up to an online account, or shared with us — we have no server to send it to.
Ads, and what Google collects
The game offers an ad in exactly two places, and never shows one on its own: a “watch an ad for +2 hints” button on the victory screen, and the same offer when you tap an empty hint slot. You have to tap it yourself. There are no banner ads and no ads between levels.
Those ads come from Google AdMob. To show them and count them, Google collects your device’s advertising ID and what you do with the ad, under Google’s own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We never see or store any of it — it goes straight to Google. You can reset your advertising ID, or turn off personalised ads, in your phone’s Google settings whenever you like.
Asking first. For players in the EU, EEA and UK, the game asks your permission before it loads any ad at all, and asks whether personalised ads are alright. You can change your answer later under Settings → Privacy settings, which only appears where your region requires it.
Permissions
The game asks your phone for three things: internet access, to load the ads; permission to show notifications, for the optional daily reminder (Settings → Daily reminder — on by default, one tap to turn it off); and permission to set that reminder again after you restart your phone, so it does not quietly stop. None of them send anything anywhere — the reminder is made and shown on your own phone. The game asks for nothing else: no camera, location, contacts, files or microphone.
Children
One Line Escape is not aimed at children and is rated for ages 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children — and because the game collects nothing from anyone, none of the above changes with age.
Changes to this policy
If what the game collects, or which other companies are involved, ever changes, this page is kept in step with it. The date at the top is the date of the last change.
